Free alternative to Huckleberry and Glow Baby Premium

The free baby tracker you share with your partner.

Log feeds, sleep and diapers with big one-thumb buttons, in a dark night look for 3 am. Everyone in the family sees each entry the moment it is saved. Charts and a summary for the doctor are free too.

  • Breastfeeding timer with left and right, bottles, pumping and sleep
  • Shared live with a family link, no accounts needed
  • No ads, no paid plan, no sign-up

Everything you log in the first year

  • Breastfeeding

A timer for each side. Switch sides or pause with one tap, and see which side to start on next. Tapped Done too early? Undo puts the timer back.

  • Bottles and pumping

Breast milk or formula, with your usual amount ready. Pumping per side, in ml or oz.

  • Sleep

Start a sleep timer when they drift off, or enter a start and end later. See how long they have been awake.

  • Diapers

Wet, dirty or both, in two taps, with the color if you want it. Today's count is always on screen.

  • Growth, health and solids

Weight, length and head size, medicine and doses, temperatures, first foods and notes for the next checkup.

  • Charts and reports

Sleep and feeds hour by hour for the last week or month, daily totals, and a printable summary for the doctor.

How it works

  1. Start the log

Add your baby's name. No email, no password. Twins or a sibling? Add more babies anytime.

  2. Share the family link

Your partner, a grandparent or the nanny opens it and adds their name. Timers and entries show on every phone, live.

  3. Glance, log, sleep

Today shows time since the last feed and diaper, whether they are asleep, and the day's totals. Charts show when they slept and fed, hour by hour.

Free, and honest about it

Huckleberry's free plan already covers the basics well. What its paid plans add is predictions, insights, enhanced reports and AI logging. Baby gives you the log, the charts, the doctor's summary and logging from your AI assistant for free, and does not predict naps on purpose.

Huckleberry Premium, $119.99 a year or $14.99 a month, adds Berry AI guidance and custom sleep plans. Glow Baby's free version also tracks the basics; Glow Baby Premium, $59.99 a year, adds comparative insights, articles and ad-free use.

What Baby does not do

  • It does not predict naps or tell you what is normal. It is a log, not a medical device. Ask your doctor about anything that worries you.
  • It needs a connection to save and to see new entries, because the log is shared live.
  • It has no reminders, widgets or watch app. An AI or voice assistant can log through its API instead.
  • It shows growth as you measured it, not as percentiles.

Good with

  • Monitor turns two phones into a free baby monitor with video and sound.
  • Still plays white noise, rain and a fan for naps, free and offline.

For AI assistants

"Log a 4 ounce bottle."

Baby has a public API, so an AI or voice assistant can log for you with your hands full, start and stop a sleep timer, and answer "when did she last eat?"

Copy the assistant key from Family in the app and give it to your assistant with llms.txt. Anyone with the key can read and add to the log, so keep it in the family.

Questions

Is there a free alternative to Huckleberry?
Yes. Baby is a free baby tracker with no paid plan: a breastfeeding timer, bottles, sleep, diapers, growth and medicine, shared live with your partner, with hour-by-hour sleep charts and a printable summary for the doctor. It does not predict naps the way Huckleberry's SweetSpot does.
Is Baby really free?
Yes. There is no paid plan, no trial and no ads. The charts, the doctor's summary and sharing with caregivers are all free. Each entry costs a tiny amount to store, and OpenApps pays for it.
How do my partner and I share the log?
Start the log, then send the family link from the Family screen. Your partner opens it, adds their name and sees every feed, sleep and diaper as it is logged. Timers show on both phones. No accounts are needed. Whoever started the log can remove someone and change the link.
How is Baby different from Huckleberry?
Huckleberry's free plan already tracks sleep, feeds and diapers and syncs caregivers. Its Plus plan, $68.99 a year or $11.99 a month when we checked in October 2026, adds SweetSpot nap predictions, insights, enhanced reports and AI logging. Baby gives you the log, hour-by-hour charts, a printable summary and logging by any AI assistant for free, and does not predict naps.
Does Baby predict naps or give advice?
No. Baby is a log, not a medical device. It records what you enter and shows totals and charts. It makes no predictions and gives no medical advice. Ask your doctor about anything that worries you.
Do I need an account?
No. Baby makes a guest account for your browser, with no email and no password. If you want the log on every device, or safe if your browser data is cleared, sign in with your email from the Family screen. It stays free.
Can I export the log for our pediatrician?
Yes. Pick a date range and print a summary with daily feeds, sleep, diapers, growth, medicine and temperatures, or download every entry as a CSV spreadsheet.
Can I log with a voice assistant?
Yes. Baby has a public API. Give your assistant the family's assistant key and it can log a 4 ounce bottle, start and stop a sleep timer, and tell you when the baby last ate. See llms.txt.
Does it work offline?
Baby opens without a connection once installed, but saving and seeing new entries needs the internet, because the log is shared live with your family.
